    the competition

Directories, job software, lead marketplaces — here's how ServicePay.uk stacks up against the tools UK tradespeople actually use.

    At a glance

Two of these are lead marketplaces and two are job software, so they are not like-for-like — the rows say what each one actually does. Tap any column for the full breakdown.

Every one of these is a good product at what it was built for. ServicePay connects the commercial side of a job — the quote, the schedule, the money — to the physical things that job depends on: the tools that do the work, the van they live in, and the certificates that prove it was done properly. None of the others joins those two halves. Where one of them does something well, it gets the tick — Tradify issues UK gas and electrical certificates, Jobber does progress invoicing and ships a website on every plan, Checkatrade quotes and invoices for free inside its app.

What each one is actually good at, and where we differ. Every figure came off their own site on 2026-08-20.

    vs CheckatradeDirectory

Homeowner visibility and trust at national scale.

Discovery and trust vs the whole operation

Checkatrade is genuinely good at being found and at reputation, and it now quotes and invoices free inside its own app. ServicePay goes further down the other end: your assets, your compliance record and your own acquisition channel, all attached to the job.

    Reviews are licensed to them

Choose Checkatrade if your biggest problem is being found, not running the work.

    vs JobberField-service software

Mature field-service software with deep automation and a large integration ecosystem.

    Mature field-service software vs UK-built

Jobber is excellent, proven software — a website on every plan, UK card payments at 1.4% + 20p, UK two-way texting on selected plans. ServicePay is UK trade-specific, and joins tool identity, theft response and property compliance into the same workflow.

Priced in USD, no UK price list

Choose Jobber if you want the bigger integration ecosystem and proven field-service automation.

    vs TradifyTrade software

Established UK trade job management with mature quoting, scheduling and accounting integrations.

Strong UK job management vs the wider estate

Tradify does UK trade job management well, including gas and electrical certificates and an optional £10 website. ServicePay differs on flat team pricing, physical asset identity, the theft workflow, and knowing what a property is still missing.

Per user, and CIS needs Xero or Sage

Choose Tradify if you want proven per-user UK trade software with strong Xero and Sage integration.

    vs MyBuilderLead marketplace

A working lead marketplace with pay-per-shortlist economics and no membership fee.

Winning the lead vs owning what happens next

MyBuilder is a strong lead marketplace with a free quote tool, and the fee is shown before contact details are exchanged. ServicePay is about everything after the lead — the job, the money, the kit and the record.

No job management after the introduction

Choose MyBuilder if you mainly need another stream of marketplace leads when the diary is empty.

Choose ServicePay if you want to run the job and also connect vans, assets, compliance, payments and reputation.

    Try what the table means

Don’t take our word for the unusual rows

The three rows nobody else ticks are the three hardest to believe. All of them are live on the feature pages, with working demos rather than screenshots.

    Before you ask

    Fair questions about these comparisons

    Are these comparisons fair?

We only make claims we can point at. Where a competitor publishes a price we quote their published figure and say how it is billed. Checkatrade publishes three tiers, Tradify publishes per-user pricing, Jobber publishes in dollars and has no UK price list, and MyBuilder charges a variable fee it shows you before contact details are exchanged. Where a figure is a range or a typical case we say so rather than quoting it as a fixed price. Every figure on these pages was re-checked against the competitor's own site on the date shown above.

Why are lead marketplaces and job software on the same table?

Because tradespeople genuinely weigh them against each other. Someone with £100 a month to spend is choosing between buying leads and running their business properly. The table labels which category each one is in so the comparison stays honest.

What can ServicePay do that none of the others can?

The honest answer is that no single row on that table is magic — it is the combination. Jobber does progress invoicing; Tradify issues gas and electrical certificates; Checkatrade quotes and invoices free inside its app. What none of them join up is this, and it all comes from one idea: your own kit and your own paperwork are worth recording. A tool and equipment register with serial numbers and receipts. Scannable QR or NFC tags on anything, never charged per tag. A break-in turned into an itemised police list and a priced insurance schedule in about ninety seconds. Property compliance tracked against what is missing, not just what you hold. And a portal for the letting agent who keeps chasing you. Five things, not seven — staged invoicing and CIS both exist elsewhere in some form, and the table says so.

    Is ServicePay cheaper?

Not always, and we would rather say so. ServicePay Pro is £39 a month with three team members included and extra seats at £9. If you are a sole trader who only needs quoting and invoicing, cheaper tools exist. The gap opens up when you add a website, card payments, reviews, SMS and the asset and compliance side, because with the others those are separate line items or simply not available.

Do I have to leave Checkatrade or MyBuilder to use ServicePay?

No. Plenty of trades run ServicePay alongside a directory listing while their own pipeline builds up. ServicePay does not charge per lead, so keeping both costs you nothing extra on our side.

How often are these pages checked?

Every quarter, and immediately whenever a competitor changes their pricing publicly. The date stamp above the table is the last time a human re-read every competitor's own pricing page.

We're not trying to replace everything

Checkatrade is great for visibility. MyBuilder can kickstart your pipeline. Jobber and Tradify are solid operational tools. But none of them give you the complete picture — a professional website, quoting, job management, invoicing, card payments, automated reviews, and a customer portal, all in one UK-built platform.

ServicePay.uk isn't the biggest. We're the most complete for UK tradespeople who want to run their business properly — from the first enquiry to getting paid.
