Your money goes to your bank.
Not ours.

When a customer pays one of your invoices by card, the money lands in your own account. We take a fee. We never hold it, never pool it, never sit on it for a week.

Where the money goes

We never touch your money

A lot of platforms take your customer’s payment into their account, hold it, and pay you out later. That is their float, earned on your work.

We don’t do that. The payment is created on your own account and the money is yours from the moment it settles. Our fee comes off as a clearly-labelled platform fee, the way an app store takes its cut — not by us holding the balance and sending you some of it back.

Your name is what shows on your customer’s bank statement, not ours — which is also the single best way to stop a payment being queried.

Who carries the risk

Stripe handles the card, so you don’t handle the risk

Card details never reach us and never reach you. They go to Stripe — the same company behind the checkout on most of the websites you already buy from.

That means PCI compliance, 3-D Secure, fraud screening and the whole apparatus of card security is handled by people who do nothing else. You get a payment link and a notification when it’s paid. Nothing about being a plumber should require you to become an expert in card fraud.

Why it matters

Getting paid is what earns the review

Here is the part no one else can copy. A ServicePay review can only be left against a job that was actually paid for through the platform. Not a job someone says they had. Not a review a competitor can post. Not one you can buy.

So when your reviews appear on your own site, on a partner site, or on GotAPal, they carry something a star rating never does: proof the work happened and proof it was paid for. That is why taking payment through ServicePay is worth more than the convenience of it.

What it costs

2.9% + £1 per payment, and never more than 4% of the invoice. Card payments start at £20.

The cap exists because a £1 fixed fee on a £45 callout is 5%, and that is not a fair number. Commercial and overseas cards cost more to process, so Stripe charges those at its own rate — our fee doesn’t change.

Already have Stripe? Connect it and we charge £0 on top — you keep whatever rate you already negotiated.
